Let’s start with a general understanding of what it is.

Yoga is an holistic practice that originated in India more than 5000 years ago. The word “Yoga” comes from the Sanskrit root “Yuj” meaning ‘to unite” or “to join”. It is a physical, mental and spiritual practice that aims to bring balance and harmony to the body, mind and soul.

It has been proved that, practicing regularly Yoga in all the forms (Asana: postures and movement / Pranayama : Breathing techniques / Dhyana : Meditation) improves health and facilitate healing.

It is important to remember, as I always mention on my classes, that yoga is not just a physical practice but also a philosophy and lifestyle. It is a journey of self-discovery and self-improvement.

Giving Yoga a try is certainly worthing, but constancy is the key. Be open minded and gracefully embrace the challenge and you will receive beautiful results.
